What it shows
Two diodes and a resistor make AND and OR gates, and a transistor makes a NOT gate. Switches give the inputs and an LED shows the output, matching each gate’s truth table.

- Diodes, resistors and a BC547 transistor
- Two switches and LEDs
- A 5 V supply or battery pack
- A breadboard

Never use mains electricity: power models with cells, batteries or a low-voltage adapter. Sharp and hot tools, flames and lab chemicals need an adult or your teacher beside you. Keep magnets, button cells and small parts away from young children, and wash your hands after making.
