The stages, in order

  1. Stage 1: Basic computer and the internet

    The first course a teacher is asked to take, learnt as a student first.

    After this stage you can

    • Use Windows, File Explorer, the browser and email with confidence
    • Spot phishing and online fraud
    • Type with all ten fingers from the home row

  2. Stage 2: ADCA, advanced computer applications

    The whole desk in one course: fundamentals, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and typing.

    After this stage you can

    • Know the parts of a computer, memory units and how files are organised
    • Write and print documents in Word, build Excel sheets with formulas and charts, and make presentations
    • Touch type and measure your speed and accuracy

  3. Stage 3: Typing in English, Hindi and regional languages

    Typing is taught at every centre, in English and Hindi, and a teacher must demonstrate it.

    After this stage you can

    • Know which finger presses which key, without looking
    • Follow and set a daily practice plan that builds speed without losing accuracy
    • Start typing in Hindi

  4. Stage 4: Computer teacher training
