Sharing and being kind
Learn easy ways to share, take turns and be kind to friends, family and animals.
Let us begin
The big idea
Kind words and kind actions make everyone feel happy. Sharing is one of the best ways to be kind. Let us see how we can share and care every day.
To share means to let others use or have a part of what we have. We can share a toy, a snack or a pencil. When we share, both people feel happy.
Taking turns is a kind of sharing too. When we play with a swing or a game, each child gets a chance. We wait calmly for our turn.
We can also share good words. Saying please, thank you, sorry and well done makes people smile.
Being kind includes helping someone who is sad or hurt, being gentle with animals, and not laughing at others. We can all be kind friends.
Worked examples
See how it works
Sharing a snack
Mina has 4 biscuits. Her friend has none. Mina gives 2 biscuits to her friend. Now each child has 2 biscuits, and both are happy.
Taking turns
Two children want the same swing. They agree that each will swing 10 times. After 10 swings, they change places.
Kind words
A new boy comes to class and feels shy. You say, "Hello! Would you like to sit with me?" Your kind words help him feel welcome.
